Blimey, things MUST be bad for Labour…

‘Hey, look, y’know, being Middle East peace envoy really helps to top the tan up…’

Apparently, Tony Blair is going to be touring marginal constituencies in South-East England in the next few days in an attempt to prop up Labour’s vote. That should go down a storm with the locals!

Reading the runes/chicken entrails from last night’s leader’s debate on the BBC (the general consensus being that the result was 1: Cameron; 2: Clegg; 3: Brown- and the increasing likelihood that this will be the 1,2,3 in terms of votes, if not seats, next Thursday) one article stood out for me. That is, Martin Kettle giving Call Me Dave the big thumbs up. As Mr. Kettle is basically Tony Blair’s Vicar on Earth in the world of British political journalism (in the same way Irwin Stelzer is Rupert Murdoch’s Vicar on Earth) I think it is possibly the best indicator going that Call Me Tony would favour a Call Me Dave-led Government. He could well get another well-paid, globe-trotting gig out of it.
